Our sojourn to Luxembourg was a very typical "Doug" trip. In my quest to collect passport stamps, we decided to fly to the UK from Luxembourg airport. We used to live in Bristol and wanted to go and visit our friend Jackie and Jas now that we live in Germany. So we went to spent a long weekend with them flying out of Luxembourg (about 2 hours from our house) to London City Airport -- both new passport stamps.
After we got back from the UK we drove into Luxembourg City to walk around a bit before heading home. I wouldn't say that we even got a legitimate taste of the city, but hey, we were there and took a few photos. Not many people can say they've been to Luxembourg...

The Luxembourg Airport is actually very nice. It has good connections to other cities in Europe plus a great flight to London City, which we took. Too bad it's not closer to our house...
Greta did a great job travelling. In fact, Luxembourg and the UK were her 10th and 11th country visited before her 5 month birthday!
The main square is Place Guillaume II and is surrounded by the Hotel de Ville (right photo), tourist office, and some cafes. It was a pretty dreary day as you can see from the photos. Plus after a long day travelling back from the UK (4 drive from Bristol to London plus flight) we just did a brief walking tour.
The left photo is the Cathedral Notre Dame. Our little peanut is a great little traveller!
The Luxembourg Monolith -- monument to WWII resistance.
In the left photo you can see Erynn and Greta with Spuerkees tower in the background. The tower is located across a large valley that creates the citadel the city is on. The balcony (right photo) where I took these photos has been called the prettiest in Europe. It is very picturesque.
Some more photos from the citadel balcony. The left photo shows the Pont Adolphe, while the right photo looks down into the valley and the Citadel Gardens.
Last up after walking around a bit was a fun photo of the minstrel statue in Theatre Square.
