The Canadian Army fought a decisive battle to capture the Vimy Ridge. It was the first time all four Canadian Divisions participated in a battle together.
It was also where David's grandfather was wounded (three times in the chest) and subsequently spent 19 months in the hospital and was reported dead. He last one lung and half the other, but survived.
